Prevention is the key to ensuring your pet lives a happy and healthy life. We recommend bringing your pet in for wellness exams twice a year. For every 1 year of our lives, a dog or cat will age 7 to 9 years. During the wellness exam, we will discuss your pet’s health status and help create a plan tailored to their specific needs.
We carry all of the vaccinations your dog or cat needs, and we will make sure your pets are up-to-date on all of their shots to keep them protected from diseases, ticks, fleas, worms and other threats. We recommend Rabies and Distemper vaccines for all dogs, and will create a tailored vaccine program to meet their remaining needs. For cats, the Rabies vaccine is required by law. All other vaccine protocols are tailored to your cat’s needs.
Cold Laser Therapy
Laser treatments penetrate deep into the body to lessen pain and inflammation which helps to stimulate healing in targeted areas. This provides a safe, non-invasive and non-pharmacological solution for pain management, wound healing and rehabilitation for pets. Each treatment plan is hand tailored by the doctors to every individual animal and can be used to help with pain associated with arthritis or other joint and soft tissue injuries (ACL tears etc.) and help speed recovery of wounds and surgical sites.
We use x-rays to evaluate the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, reproductive, and urinary systems in your pets. In addition, we offer PennHip and OFA to evaluate hip and elbow dysplasia in dogs and cats.
Our clinic offers a range of surgical procedures including dental extractions, soft tissue surgery, and routine spays and neuters. For special procedures such as orthopedic surgery, echocardiograms, and sonography, we use a network of specialists. This ensures your pet receives the highest quality of care.
Spays and Neuters
It is recommended that all pets are spayed or neutered. Animals over either 4 lbs or 4 months of age or eligible for this procedure. The most benefit for a pet is obtained prior to 6 months of age. There are, of course, breed specific recommendations. This is an outpatient procedure, so you pet can go home the same day, depending on the recovery time from anesthesia.
If your pets have a fear of the veterinary office or you are looking for a more convenient option, we provide house calls. We offer home visits for routine vaccinations, sick animals, and humane euthanasia.
Dental cleanings can help prolong your pet’s life. Our dental services are designed to keep your pet’s teeth clean and pain free. All dental procedures are performed under anesthesia to ensure they are comfortable and feel safe. During a dental cleaning, your pet’s teeth are scaled and polished, and any necessary extractions are performed. By removing calculus and tartar build up the source of inflammation is addressed, preventing harmful bacteria and products of inflammation from circulating into the bloodstream and affecting major organs such as the liver, heart, or kidneys.
